Included, limited or unlimited mileage: read the right line
The mileage allowance is the distance a rental rate lets you drive without an extra-distance charge. It does not describe fuel or all your road expenses. When comparing two offers, look for a written answer: a total allowance for the rental, a daily allowance with its calculation rules, or an explicit statement of unlimited mileage.
If your offer says “unlimited”, the other rental conditions still apply. Confirm permitted use and territory. This guide does not announce a Satguru mileage package or unlimited-mileage offer; the terms of your own quote apply.
How do you estimate the distance for your stay?
Start with the pick-up and return addresses, then add each stop to your route planner. A Casablanca–Marrakech drive is not your whole trip if you also plan daily outings and a return to Casablanca. Returning in another city changes the distance calculation, but that arrangement needs separate confirmation.
Add the journeys between cities, drives to your accommodation, sightseeing and the final drive to the return location. Leave room in your estimate for detours or a hotel change. Use an up-to-date route estimate; a distance between city centres may not match your actual addresses.
Daily allowance or trip allowance: why it matters
If an offer gives a daily allowance, ask whether the kilometres are pooled across the rental or assessed separately each day. Confirm how many rental days are charged and how an extension would affect the allowance. A daily figure alone does not answer those questions.
For illustration only: a quote allowing 800 km in total and a trip covering 950 km would leave 150 km beyond the allowance. Any extra charge then depends on the per-kilometre rate in that quote. These figures explain the calculation; they are not Satguru terms or prices.
Questions that make two quotes comparable
Request quotes for identical dates and times, a comparable vehicle category and the same itinerary. A lower daily rate does not settle the comparison when mileage allowances or included services differ. Check these points in each offer:
Choose a car for a comparable quote
- The included distance and the period it covers.
- The charge per extra kilometre, its currency and any applicable taxes.
- How the allowance is calculated if you extend the rental or change the route.
- Delivery, return-in-another-city charges and chosen extras, separately from mileage.
Keep fuel, tolls and the deposit separate
A mileage allowance does not tell you the fuel budget for your route. Ask about the fuel arrangement in the agreement and budget separately for road expenses. Keep the security deposit distinct from the rental price too; do not count it as a definite expense when comparing offers. Its terms are those in your quote.
At collection and return: record the odometer
Check with the handover contact that the starting odometer reading has been recorded. A clear photo can supplement your paperwork. At return, compare the readings with the return document and keep the records. If your itinerary grows during the stay, contact the team before changing the agreed arrangements and ask for an updated offer.
Request a quote that fits your distance
Send your dates and times, pick-up and return locations, main stops, passenger and luggage counts, and transmission preference. Add your estimated distance and explain that it is approximate. Satguru Car Rental can then review the request and confirm the vehicle, included kilometres, price and applicable arrangements. Wait for written confirmation before treating the booking as final.
