Essential documents
The main driver should present original, legible documents that remain valid throughout the rental. A copy or phone photo may help prepare the file, but it does not necessarily replace the original at pick-up.
- A valid driving licence for the main and every additional driver.
- A valid national identity card or passport.
- Address, phone number and the details required for the rental agreement.
- The payment method and deposit agreed with the agency before pick-up.
Foreign licence: what should you check?
If your licence was issued outside Morocco, send a copy to the agency before arrival. Depending on the issuing country, language and length of stay, an official translation or international driving permit may be required in addition to the national licence.
An international driving permit is not a stand-alone licence. When required, it generally needs to be shown together with the corresponding national licence.
Driver age and licence history
There is no single commercial condition for every rental company and vehicle category. An economy car and an SUV may have different rules. Ask for written confirmation of the minimum age, required licence history and any model-specific restrictions.
What to check before signing
Review the drivers' names, dates, return location, expected mileage, fuel level and insurance conditions. Make sure the vehicle's condition is recorded on the handover document and keep your copy of the agreement.
